HER(Plus) Briefing by QAA
On 19 January, 2015 ECL staff and student representative attended the HER(Plus) briefing by QAA. This briefing event was an opportunity for staff to find out more about what we need to do to prepare for review. It provides information to gain an overview of what Higher Education Review Plus is about and how it will work. Post publication Talk by Dr. Masihur Rahman
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Economic Advisor Dr Masihur Rahman at ECL for a post publication talk on his recently published book Constitutional Democracy Not Death Squads Again with barrister Ben Belliger councilor of saffron walden, Cambridge and Prashanta Barua Director of European College of law. Also a good number of audience were present and made comments on his book.
Educational Oversight Autumn Feedback Conference: Embedding Quality Enhancement
ECL's staff attended Educational Oversight Autumn Feedback Conference: Embedding Quality Enhancement which is taking place at Hamilton House, Mabledon Place, London WC1H 9BD on Monday 24th November 2014(10.00 to 16.30). It was led by QAA review Manager with group work discussion activities. The main aim of this conference is to develop providers' awareness of enhancement (from QAA perspective)and associated consideration. All the delegates took part in group discussion activities, shared experiences and provided examples of good practice. ECL's Principal Dr Zakir Hossain attended the conference along with LL.B Administrator & Lecturer in Law Colin Howard.

BCS approved Centre
We are very pleased to let you know that ECL recently has become a BCS approved Centre. BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT champions the global IT profession and the interests of individuals engaged in that profession for the benefit of all.
New Academic Staff
ECL has conducted an induction meeting with their new academic staff on 30/10/2014 (14.00-16.00). In the meeting Principal has introduced all new members of staff to other ECL staff and explained ECL Policies, Health, safety and fire policy, Academic policies, rules and regulations, Class time and Academic calendar. Principal also presented and explained the contents and resources available in ECL website. The List of new ECL Lecturers is provided below.

Bangabandhu Boi Mela 2014, UK
European College of Law (ECL) has jointly organised 2nd Bangabandhu Boi Mela in UK. It was a three day Exhibition of books written on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
ECL's Flagship BTT Support Programme
European College of Law (ECL) has recently started training on advocacy and witness handling for BTT examinees. Barrister Ben Balliger conducted the 4 weeks long training programme. The programme will be extended up to a three month period in January.
2014 Laws Providers' Conference
University of London Undergraduate Laws Programmes
European College of Law (ECL) has recently attended Laws Providers' Conference 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The three day Conference focused on new idea and innovation enhancing & broadening the teaching and learning opportunities across the globe irrespective of geographical boundary. The conference also shared good practice experiences and expertise among fellow participants. Participants contribbuted their valuable observations and recommendations in the area of academic pedagogy, quality recruitment, extended teacher training and creating a teachers network alongside curriculum development and extended extra curricular activities.

ECL's QAA Review final report
European College of Law (ECL) has undergone a review for educational oversight by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and has received its final report, which is available in full at: www.qaa.ac.uk/reviews-and-reports/provider
We have received the following judgements from QAA: The review team has confidence in European College of Law Ltd's management of its responsibilities for the standards of the awards it offers on behalf of its awarding body and organisation.
The review team has confidence European College of Law Ltd is fulfilling its responsibilities for managing and enhancing the quality of the intended learning opportunities it provides for students.
The review team concludes that reliance can be placed on the information that European College of Law Ltd produces for its intended audiences about the learning opportunities it offers.

ECL staff and students are scheduled to visit High Court of Justiciary, Edinburgh, Scotland
European College of Law (ECL) students will be visiting High Court of Justiciary, Court of Session, Edinburgh, Scotland on 5th November. ECL team feels honoured that The Right Honourable Lord Gill, the Lord President and Lord Justice General has kindly invited us to visit and observe court room activities.
ECL team is led by Director of Studies & HOD, Law Dept, Mr. P B Barua and his fellows at ECL. The team includes students, staff and visiting family members of one student.
ECL office will remain close on 4th and 5th November and reopen on 6th 9.30am.
